Volunteer Onboarding Process

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Seattle Veterinary Outreach (SVO)! We’re excited to welcome new volunteers and guide you through our onboarding process. Here’s what you can expect as you start your journey with us:

1. Schedule an Interest Call

To begin, please schedule a 30-minute interest call with Zarah Gaeta, our Programs and Volunteer Manager. Use this Calendly link to choose a convenient time for the call. During this conversation, we’ll discuss your interest in volunteering with SVO, share details about our mission, and explore the various volunteer opportunities available.

2. Submit Your Volunteer Application

After you complete the interest call, please fill out our volunteer application form. This helps us understand your interests and skills, ensuring we match you with opportunities that best fit your preferences.

3. Observe or Shadow at Our Clinics

Once you submit the volunteer application, you’re welcome to visit our clinics. This is a great opportunity to observe our operations and shadow current volunteers. It will give you a firsthand look at how we work and help you feel more comfortable when you start your role.

4. Complete Required Trainings

Based on the volunteer roles that interest you, we’ll refer you to our training sessions. These trainings are conducted once a month and are essential for getting you up to speed with your chosen role. We ask that you complete the training within 30 days of starting as a volunteer to ensure you’re fully prepared for your responsibilities.

If you have any questions about the onboarding process, please feel free to contact Zarah directly at zarahgaeta@seattlevet.org.

We’re thrilled to have you join our team and look forward to working with you to make a positive impact. Thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment to supporting SVO.
