Don’t just take our word for it—here’s what our clients have to say about Seattle Veterinary Outreach:
“I had really bottomed out. Prior I was a teacher but lost my job and housing. My daughter and I were homeless for two years. I was so ashamed and felt like such a failure. My family took me in and when I re-established housing, I found Tasha in the paper and was lucky enough to be the first caller. Tasha got me out and talking to people again. They stop me and ask about her and with that my shame has slowly left me to be replaced with confidence. Tasha is extremely loyal and protective to me and a dear friend. She could never be replaced, and I will never forget what she’s done for me.”
Ronald brought For Real to SVO for treatment, but he needed more extensive care than could be provided at a mobile clinic. Our Resource Navigator worked with Ronald to identify a vet clinic that could provide the surgery For Real needed, while providing Ronald with extra time to pay the bill. We also helped Ronald apply for financial aid assistance as well as helped him sign up for housing waiting lists. We then provided vaccinations and microchips for all four of Ronald’s dogs so they could qualify to join him in his new permanent housing!
“I will not give up on my buddies they have really been there for me in my worst of times. Thank you so much for all your help in helping us all from the bottom of my heart. I love you guys.”
“Without Seattle Veterinary Outreach Program, Maggie would not get the care she needs. I encourage everyone to check out Seattle Veterinary Outreach Program. It’s the best and these people rock! They know their stuff. Thank you so so much”
“I moved through different hostels and shelters, but due to my medical conditions I could not do the physical labor they required, so I always got kicked out. I got my dog Garth one year ago. I spent this year on the streets, because having Garth made it harder to stay at places.…. but Garth really helps me. Having a service dog keeps me functional. It keeps me sane. The fact that (SO) allows me to not spend half of my Social Security check on veterinary care really helps. I like the fact that you guys are making efforts to come out every single week, you are mobile, and you have a network to refer people to [for additional human services].”
“Vaccines are really expensive. Now we can afford to keep him. It’s an encouraging environment. Anything you might need for your pet, they may have. No one makes you feel bad about it”
“My dog is my everything and I can remember sitting outside on the curb of a vet’s office and bawling my eyes out because I couldn’t afford the bill. SO has changed everything. From 1-10 I would give the care here a 20! Everyone has been so welcoming and I am fully confident in the treatment that Savage is getting.”
“Seattle Veterinary Outreach is a stable spot in this unpredictable world. I’m so glad they have a service like this for people that dont have the money to go to a regular vet clinic.”
“There is a lot of stigmas around being disabled and low income and having a service dog. Being able to get access to care for my service dog in training is really important to me.”
“Everyone here is very nice and treated Estrella and Romeo with compassion”
“It’s really helpful. The alternative is that she suffers. So, it’s really important that we get help.”
“We brought in our kitty Mowgli Monkey for some bloodwork. The people here are so amazing and there are so many resources available. I got everything I needed and more”
“As a single parent, it’s very challenging for me to be able to afford these kinds of services. I don’t think I could give quality care to my dog without this additional help.”
“It’s been a life saver”
“The vet care here is really good. I bring my cat here as well. You can meet your animals needs by coming to these clinics. I really appreciate it”
“In today’s high rent and low wages, veterinary care for our pets that are like our family, is out of reach.”
