Seattle Vet Outreach (SVO) is dedicated to keeping families and their pets together by providing accessible veterinary services for individuals and families who are living unhoused or are low-income and receive state subsidies, such as SNAP, WIC, SSDI, and TANF, or are in subsidized housing.
Our mobile clinics travel throughout King and Snohomish counties, partnering with local human service organizations to deliver essential care to communities in need. By offering sliding-scale veterinary services, we help alleviate the financial strain that can sometimes separate people from their pets. We are committed to strengthening the bond between pets and their families, creating healthier and more connected communities.
At Seattle Vet Outreach, we believe in the powerful bond between people and their pets. Through this connection, our outreach clinics provide not only veterinary care but also human services. Our on-site social worker offers referrals and support, connecting individuals and families with resources tailored to their needs. By integrating human services with pet care, we aim to strengthen and uplift pets and their families, fostering stability and well-being for all.
Your donation allows us to continue supporting our unhoused neighbors and their animal companions.
By donating to Seattle Veterinary Outreach, you’re helping create healthier communities for pets and the people who love them.
Mobile Health Outreach, an initiative of Seattle Veterinary Outreach, provides free medical care to unhoused individuals in King County. Our small team of volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses uses a “backpack” model, bringing supplies and care directly to those living in tents, RVs, or rough sleeping.
Our Mobile Health Outreach team addresses barriers like lack of transportation and mistrust of the medical system by offering wound care, blood pressure checks, harm reduction supplies, and naloxone for overdose prevention. We also connect patients to ongoing primary care and collaborate with partners like Seattle Homeless Outreach to serve our community.
It keeps me sane. The fact that (SVO) allows me to not spend half of my Social Security check on veterinary care really helps. I like the fact that you guys are making efforts to come out every single week, you are mobile, and you have a network to refer people to (for additional human services).
I moved through different hostels and shelters, but due to my medical conditions I could not do the physical labor they required, so I always got kicked out. I got my dog Garth one year ago. I spent this year on the streets, because having Garth made it harder to stay at places.…. but Garth really helps me. Having a service dog keeps me functional. It keeps me sane. The fact that (SO) allows me to not spend half of my Social Security check on veterinary care really helps. My dog is my everything and I can remember sitting outside on the curb of a vet’s office and bawling my eyes out because I couldn’t afford the bill. SO has changed everything. From 1-10 I would give the care here a 20! Everyone has been so welcoming and I am fully confident in the treatment that Savage is getting.
